A stunning Sikh wedding in Adelaide saw us crossing the oceans twice to capture this beautiful love story. We photographed their pre-wedding moments in India and then traveled to photograph their beautiful Sikh wedding in Adelaide 6 months later.
We started the day quite early as Rupy and Preet dressed in their finest attires and the most unruly butterflies in their stomachs at separate addresses across Adelaide. The morning was filled with laughter, family arriving blessing their wonderful day of union and helping to dress them in their royal outfits.
Scroll down to see how the day unfolded:
Preet arrived in style at the gurudwara and after a small prayer, their wedding ceremony started. The wait for Rupy to walk in was visible on Preet’s face the entire time he sat there. Rupy looked gorgeous and wrapped in anticipation as she walked down the aisle surrounded by her family.
The ceremony takes place at the Gurudwara prayer hall during the daytime.
The Guru Granth Sahib or the holy book is placed at a site of prominence and the marriage ceremony is designed around it. As the couple goes around the book with hymns being melodiously sung the entire place is filled with divine poetry of love.

We then ran away with them to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens to photograph the giggles, hugs, and love of these newlyweds.
So it was us, the rad videographers – Life Sketch Films and Rupy and Preet; cracking jokes, sharing married life stories and giving hugs for the 40 minutes
we had alone with them on their busy day of celebration of their Sikh wedding in Adelaide.
Once back, we photographed the emotional ceremony of Rupy preparing to leave her parent’s house and then
the warm welcome when she reaches the Preet’s home.
After the tears and big smiles that hurt our cheeks, it was time to get ready for the grand reception.
We, along with the videographers ran to different venues to capture the magic that was happening across the board in preparation for this evening of dance, music, and celebration.
By this time our feet were aching and our back was feeling its age – however, the friends we earned, the stories we photographed and the smiles and laughter we shared throughout the day will always sing in our hearts.
Rupy and Preet we wish you a lifetime of happiness and joy!
